Steak-Smothered Cubes


**Ingredients :

° 1 large onion, peeled and thinly sliced ​​Salt and pepper
° 1 pound minced meat
° 1 tablespoon butter
° 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
° 4-8 slices of American cheese, mayonnaise, mustard and pickles for serving
° 4 toasted hamburger buns

* How to make  :

Combine sliced ​​onion with 1 teaspoon salt in a bowl and toss until combined. Transfer the onions to a colander and leave for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

Transfer the onions to a clean dish towel, gather the ends together and squeeze as much liquid from the onions as possible. Do this over a sink or large bowl where the onions will hold a good deal of liquid.

On a folded baking sheet, slice the onions into 4 separate piles. Shape the meat into 4 light balls. Place the meatballs over the onion mounds and spread the meat firmly (use your palm) so that the onions stick to the beef. The pancakes should be 4 inches in diameter. Seasoning beef generously with salt // pepper.

Melt the butter with the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Using a large spoon, transfer the patties to the skillet, onion side down. Cook for 6-8 minutes, until the onions turn a deep golden brown and start to crisp around the edges. Flip the burger, then raise the heat to high and cook until well browned on the second side, about 2 minutes. Add one or two slices of cheese to each burger and let it melt. Add mayonnaise, mustard, and pickles to the top buns, then place each burger on the bottom of the bun. Feet it right away
