Homemade pancakes


Nothing says "weekend" like homemade pancakes for breakfast. Our easy recipe will help you stir them up in less than 30 minutes. Making pancake dough from scratch is so simple that you'll wonder why you haven't done it before!


* Ingredients :

° 1 cup all-purpose flour (spoons and flats)
° 2 tablespoons of sugar
° 2 teaspoons baking powder
° 1/2 teaspoon salt
° 1 cup milk
° 2 tablespoons unsalted or melted butter or vegetable oil
° 1 large egg
° 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
° Miscellaneous toppings, such as butter, maple syrup, confectioners' sugar, honey, jams, preserves, sweetened whipped cream, and chocolate syrup

*  Directions :

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees; Have a baking sheet or a heatproof plate ready to keep cooked pancakes warm in the oven. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Sit aside.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, butter (or oil), and eggs. Adding dry ingredients to milk mix . Whisk until just wet (do not over mix; some small lumps are OK).
Step 3
Heat a large skillet (nonstick or cast iron) or griddle over medium heat. fold a sheet of tissue paper in half, moisten it with oil; Rub the skillet carefully with a paper towel greased with oil.
Step 4
For each pancake, put two to three tablespoons of batter into a skillet, using the back of the spoon to distribute the batter in a round shape (you should be able to fit 2-3 tablespoons in a large skillet). 
Fifth step
Cook until the surface of the pancakes shows some bubbles and a few have burst, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir well with a thin spoon, and let it brown on the underside, for another 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet or plate; Cover loosely with aluminum foil, and keep warm in the oven. Continue with more oil and remaining dough. (You will have 12 to 15 pancakes.) Serve warm with desired toppings.
